Personalisation: Terms & Conditions

From March 2021 our Gift Card Terms and Conditions will be changing. This will change how the expiry of a Gift Card or eGift Card is extended. Previously, the expiry could be extended via a blance check or redemption in-store. From March 2021 only the load and reload of funds to a Gift Card will extend the expiry by two years from that date.

Sainsbury's eGift Cards

1. eGift Cards can be purchased from https://www.sainsburysgiftcard.co.uk/. The terms and conditions detailed below apply to any eGift Card issued from this site.
2. eGift Cards can be provided through our Business Services via loyalty, reward or benefits programmes.  The terms and conditions detailed below apply to such eGift Cards.
3. All Sainsbury’s eGift Cards are non-refundable.
4. Sainsbury’s eGift Cards may be redeemed in full or part payment for goods at Sainsbury’s Supermarket Ltd.
5. eGift Cards can only be used in-store or online at www.sainsburys.co.uk for Sainsbury’s Online Groceries only.
6. eGift Cards cannot be used for purchases over the phone, via the Sainsbury’s App, at Sainsbury’s Petrol Stations, in the pharmacy, any concession within Sainsbury’s or at any Sainsbury’s concession within third party retailers.
7. eGift Cards are not a credit, payment or cheque guarantee cards, cannot be redeemed for cash, for Sainsbury’s Bank products, services or credit card balances and cannot be resold or re-tendered. This does not affect your statutory rights.
8. Sainsbury’s may exclude specific products from purchase via eGift Card, please refer to https://help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/products/about-sainsburys-giftcard for the full listing. Sainsbury's reserves the right to amend this list at any time.
9. If you do not spend the entire balance of an eGift Card in one transaction, the remaining balance will remain available for use. The eGift Card balance will be printed on the till receipt after each use.
10. The value of an eGift Card expires on the date shown on the eGift Card, which is 24 months from the date of initial activation. If unused within this time the card will be deemed inactive and any remaining balance lost.
11. Treat an eGift Card as cash as it cannot be replaced if lost, damaged or stolen. Sainsbury’s is not responsible for any unauthorised use of an eGift Card.
12. You can manage your eGift Card by registering at https://help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/products/about-sainsburys-giftcard.  Registering allows you to check the balance of the eGift Card at any time.
13. Any funds on an eGift Card are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. In the unlikely event of the issuer of this product becoming insolvent some or all funds on any eGift Card held may not be available to be spent.
14. Sainsbury’s reserve the right to decline or withdraw eGift Cards, the right to amend these terms and conditions for eGift Card at any time and to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of the eGift Card, if, in its reasonable opinion, it deems such action necessary.

Voucher Express Terms & Conditions

1. Sales of Sainsbury's eGift Cards are made, managed and fulfilled by Voucher Express - a trading name of Hemingways Marketing Services Ltd, Metcalfe House, 23H Kirkgate, Ripon. HG4 1PB, established 1947 and registered in England 453174. VAT Reg No: GB 169725424. Voucher Express is the seller of the gift cards.
2. eGift cards ordered through this site will be sent by Voucher Express to the email address provided at point of order.
3. Should you purchase an eGift card that you want to have personalised, you will need to upload a photo of your choice and add it to the email sent with the eGift Card. The uploading of your photo shall be at your own risk.
4. Any photo uploaded by you must be owned by you and it must not contain, including but not limited any content that ;
   1. is offensive, distasteful, degrading, threatening, pornographic, shows any kind of abuse, including but not limited to racial, religious or child abuse, considered a criminal offence or breach of applicable law or may in any way cause offence;
   2. could reflect negatively on the name, reputation, or goodwill of Sainsbury’s or any of its group companies;
   3. includes trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by the winner or used without the right holder's prior written permission (including famous names, company names, etc.);
   4. defames, misrepresents, or insults other people or companies, including, but not limited to Sainsbury’s or its group companies (including its partners);
   5. promotes any political agenda; or
   6. includes images of any third party who has not expressly consented
5. Sainsbury’s will not be held responsible or liable for any photo uploaded by you and will not be responsible for any loss of photos, however the loss occurs.
6. Should a photo breach these terms Sainsbury’s reserves the right to remove it with immediate effect and if necessary, we will comply with any law enforcement as required.
7. You are responsible for ensuring you have the relevant computer system to upload your photo and that the photo will be free of viruses or infections that could contaminate or destroy our systems.
8. eGift cards will normally be delivered by email via Voucher Express on the day of purchase unless a specified later delivery date is requested. Where possible we will try to meet all delivery requirements but neither Voucher Express nor Sainsbury's shall be liable for any loss incurred either directly or indirectly by failure to meet the delivery date and time indicated at the time of order being placed. ‘Loss’ in this instance includes loss of profit, costs, damages, charges or other expenses.
9. Risk will pass to the customer upon delivery and title will pass upon receipt of payments in full. Neither Voucher Express nor Sainsbury's can be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged eGift Cards following delivery to the recipient. eGift Cards will NOT be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged. Neither Voucher Express nor Sainsbury's is responsible for funds on the card used without your knowledge.
10. Sainsbury's eGift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash and cash refunds will not be available for products purchased with this card. Voucher Express is not directly linked to Sainsbury's and can take no responsibility for products and services offered by Sainsbury's. For the same reason, Sainsbury's shall not be responsible for services offered by Voucher Express and its associated companies, including without limitation the collection and management of your credit card data and personal information which is collected, processed and managed by Voucher Express.
11. eGift Card values should be checked immediately upon receipt. Any discrepancies must be notified immediately. Voucher Express cannot be held responsible for shortage or loss of any eGift Card not notified to us within three days of delivery.
12. Cleared payment is required prior to the dispatch of orders. Payment is taken automatically at the time of purchase by Voucher Express. Your credit/debit card statement will read 'Voucher Express'. We reserve the right to decline any order without providing explanation. Sainsbury's will not be given access to your credit/debit card details.
13. Sainsbury's eGift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash. eGift cards which are defaced, altered or cancelled will not be accepted in Sainsbury's stores.
14. The re-sale of eGift Cards sold via this website is strictly prohibited.
15. Force Majeure: Voucher Express cannot be held responsible for failure to meet its service obligations when any failure is brought about due to some cause totally beyond its reasonable control. Examples of this might include: acts of God, trade disputes; governmental intervention, fire, flood, and disruption to computer and IT infrastructure.
16. Breach of these conditions will entitle Voucher Express to seek the appropriate legal remedy available for injunction, damages or otherwise.
17. Your use of this website is governed by these Terms and Conditions and construed and enforced in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Disputes arising from your use of this website and the services we provide are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Personalisation: Terms & Conditions

• In brief: You must have full rights and authority to use any image and other material that you upload into the Sainsbury's personalised service (“User Content”). For User Content you upload into the eGift Card personalised service you authorise us to use the User Content to enable us to provide the personalised service to you. If you don’t have the right to do so or you’re not sure, please don’t use them.
• You must ensure that User Content does not:
  • infringe anyone’s copyright or other intellectual property rights such as a trade mark;
  • infringe anyone’s confidentiality, privacy or data protection rights by ensuring that you have the right to use another person’s image for the personalised service.
• We review all orders – if you think the User Content could cause offence or upset to others then don’t use it.
• Not for resale. Being able to personalise your Sainsbury's eGift Card makes for a great personal gift but we can’t allow use for intended resale purposes.
